Annunciator Operation and Connection
All our instruments incorporate an external nunciator activation line on the orange wire of the wiring harness.
The annuciator will trigger and remain active as long as any or all of the red line conditions of the specific instrument are active.
When active, the orange wire will provide a direct path to ground. It is not current protected. The maximum current flowing in the annunciator circuit must not exceed 100mA constant. Exceeding the 100mA limit will damage the instrument.
When using multiple instruments it is possible to connect all orange wires together and then to a common annunciator. In this case any one red line condition on any instrument will activate the annunciator.
Connecting the annunciator is mandatory for the STC if an annunciator exists on the instrument being replaced. If not, then it is optional.
